A Song of Nature

The cabin is warm
As the coals continue
To release their strength
While nature continues
To sing her song
Through the leaves
Of the trees soaking
In the blessing
Relishing the pounding
As rivers of rain drain
From the tallest
To the smallest bush.

I can hear the song
As if it is
A personal message
As poignant as
A woodpecker
Knocking on a door
as the signal of
an invitation
for you to accept
the song
that has been
forever in your soul
