the sun begins to rise…

In the Hollow

In the hollow
of the forest
of the ocean
of the soul
lays an endless
hope and wish
that all will be well
and all will
work out as it should.

Where is the certainty
of that thought
of that wish
of that desire
when we cannot
see into a future
that is clouded
with too much residue
from the past?

We cannot clean up
what has happened
with a childhood lost
in memory
in family
in history
veiled in its promise
to deliver
a life of value
when guidance
was at a premium
and vision
came with blinders.
