what I remember most…

life lessons, life, poetry on medium, poetry, relationship

Now & Then

Your out-stretched
arms strain
to take me back
to yesterday
with constant
of what could have been
had we tried.

When sentiment
gave way to pathos
and raw emotion
was confused
with intelligence
the end (at times)
had little meaning
if any.

We have said
our goodbyes
was well as
parted ways
and it will never
be as it was
be that as it may.

As the years
relentlessly pass
one after the other
and I think of you
now and then
what I remember most
is how close
we were as friends.
